From the album Ca$ino
This is a song about wanting someone who only knows how to love in extremes. Baby Keem paints a woman he cannot shake loose from his mind even though he sees exactly who she is, flaws and masks and all. The real drama is not her behavior but his inability to demand anything different, writing love songs into the void for someone who might never meet him halfway.
Dramatic girl / The world is vast / Unapologetic / I wish you well / Take off the mask
Keem starts by naming her defining trait, then immediately zooms out to show her scale of operation. The contradiction is the point: he wishes her well but also wants her to drop the act, knowing she probably will not.
She has her vices, who am I to judge? / She's tucked away / Somewhere remote / I've been enlightened
The moment he stops judging is the moment he reveals his weakness. Distance should create clarity, but he frames it as enlightenment, convincing himself this mess means something deeper.
There's more than one way you should love me / We drew blood in the ocean / I've been hidin' in the open
He is asking for complexity while admitting to his own contradictions. The blood in the ocean means they have hurt each other, but he keeps swimming. Hiding in the open captures the whole dynamic: visible but emotionally inaccessible.
I know we haven't spoke in so long, I've been writin' love songs / I've been singin' love songs
This lands hard because it exposes how one-sided this has become. He is making art out of silence, turning her absence into material, keeping the connection alive entirely in his own head.
Is it that deep? / Swimmin' in the water, know it's six feet deep / Can you show me more love? We'll see
Che flips the perspective and questions whether any of this intensity is warranted. Six feet deep is grave territory, and his skepticism about getting more love cuts through Keem's romanticism.
The song ends with fragmented repetition, girl and dance chopped into loops, like his brain stuck on her even as the track fades. Keem never gets resolution because he never actually demands it. He just keeps swimming.
