The question hangs unanswered because Faiyaz already doubts the answer. He positions himself as the one doing all the work, moving and breathing to make her feel special, like love is a performance he has to maintain or she will leave.
You must be from the other side / 'Cause I saw you in my dreams last night
He treats her presence like a glitch in his reality. The phrasing suggests she is too good to be real, but it also keeps her at a distance, as if calling her otherworldly protects him from the risk of losing someone human.
Wish that I could hold your hand / You would never have to feel alone
The conditional tense gives it away. He wishes he could hold her hand, meaning he is not actually doing it. This is fantasy masquerading as devotion, a promise made to someone who might not even be there.
If I told you where, you wouldn't believe me / You were always there in my dreams
Faiyaz admits the location is unbelievable because it is not real. She exists most vividly in his head, and he keeps circling back to that fact like it is the most honest thing he can say about the relationship.
If you really love it here / Then won't you tell me all the time?
He needs constant reassurance, not because she is not giving it, but because he does not trust good things to last. The question is not really for her. It is for himself, checking if any of this is real before it evaporates.
Faiyaz builds a love song around the fear that it is all temporary. The more he insists she is from somewhere else, the more he reveals he is bracing for her to leave. What sounds like devotion is really him rehearsing the loss before it happens.
