This accuses someone else of enabling the paralysis without saying how or why. The question is not actually a search. It is a way to make someone else responsible for an answer the narrator refuses to pursue themselves.

The narrator claims to repress hatred but then says the frustration is too strong, which means the repression does not work. This is someone announcing their own failure to contain what they feel while still doing nothing about it.

Victory here is not freedom. It is revenge. Self-reliance gets framed as a punishment for the 'you' who did not save them. The narrator does not want to be saved. They want someone to fail at saving them so they can win the argument.
